5 minutes for mom: don’t miss this

I am honored to have 5 Minutes for Mom be the Day 7 tour stop for Use Your Words, and I urge you to head over there and check out these amazing posts right now. And I say posts (plural) because there are three!!

First a little about 5 Minutes for Mom:

5 Minutes for Mom seeks to help inform moms as they help them to connect virtually. Regular features include book reviews, giveaways, celebrity interviews, and parenting essays.

5 Minutes for Books is a review blog that is strengthened from the different reading loves of our team. They review children’s and adult books, provide gift ideas, and feature giveaways.

You can read the official review of Use Your Words on 5 Minutes for Books here. Thank you so much, Jennifer, for the warm review.

My favorite part of having the book out is having people share with me pieces that they wrote as a result of the book. What an incredible gift to have these words out in the world. Please read the two wonderful essays written by 5 Minutes for Moms editors in response to writing prompts from Use Your Words.

The first is by Elizabeth Dyck Jones about her experience mothering a child not her own after a tragedy. (This is also the giveaway post, so be sure to comment.) You can read more of her writing on her personal blog, Planet Nomad.

The second is Jennifer Donovans’ wonderful piece on her personal blog Snapshot about what kind of mother her mom was/is and how she wants to be remembered by her own children. A lovely piece that will spark your own writing.

Thank you Jennifer and Elizabeth and 5 Minutes for Mom!

  1. oh wow…the piece written by Elizabeth Dyck Jones was so moving, and wonderfully written! oh, the content made me so sad, while the crafted writing was fabulous! thank you for giving the link! 🙂

  2. Two lovely pieces – the snapshot of her mother was particulalry poinant for me as I greive for my mum and remember what we had. (she is still alive but a stroke has taken her and left a shadow). I often wonder what my own children will remember. Hopefully not all the shouting!!
