must read: last tour post

I’m sitting at my desk in my cubicle at work, which I probably shouldn’t admit since I’m on the clock (though honestly, I don’t take smoke breaks or even lunch breaks, so I think I’m okay). Anyway, I’m sitting here with tears running down my face.  I have no shame.

I just read the last post on the Use Your Words virtual book tour, and I can’t think of a better way to wrap it up. Thank you to Jenn Mattern at Breed ‘Em and Weep for so completely capturing both what I intended to do in the book and, well, me.

I shouldn’t be surprised, of course. Jenn is amazing. If you don’t read her blog, start reading it. She’s got powerful prose and a core that is brave and beautiful. Thank you, Jenn, for being part of the tour. More importantly, thank you for knowing and understanding that younger version of myself, that version that was struggling to find a way in the world.

Please take a moment to read Jenn’s post.  And then take a moment to celebrate all the amazing women out there writing their stories, their humanity.

  1. What a wonderful book tour! You are right about this post being a fitting end. Thanks for letting me be a part of it.

  2. Congratulations, Kate. You have been in mind these days. I am so happy your book tour has been such a success, so far.

  3. Kate, I just finished Motherhood and Words, which I bought months ago, after hearing about it from you in Chicago, but then was so overwhelmed by the motherhood part that I didn’t have (make) time for the words part. I’m sorry I missed being part of your virtual book tour! I mentioned your book in my post today, though. Thanks for getting me back into my writing/reading groove.
