extraordinary ordinary

I’m honored to have Heather King of The Extraordinary Ordinary kicking off the second week of the Ready for Air blog book tour. I met Heather at the inaugural MN Blogger Conference in 2010. I was leading a writing workshop, and Heather was sitting on a table to my right, her legs dangling over the edge. And as soon as she volunteered to read what she’d written in the workshop, I could tell I’d love her. Well, actually, even before that. She’s one of those people who just exudes good stuff.

I wrote about that MN Blogger Conference here, but I’ll tell you that this was before I was on Twitter, and I didn’t realize people were live tweeting my workshop. (I thought they were bored and texting their friends about my lame shirt or something. I was happily surprised that this was NOT the case.)

Heather is fierce and brave. And the thing that I love most about her is she’s not willing to put herself or anyone else in a box. People are complex, life is complex, and it’s okay to live with that messiness. I loved this recent post about acceptance and opening our minds.

So thank you, Heather, for your kind words about Ready for Air. Thank you for helping other get their words out into the world. And thank you for all that good stuff you exude!

  1. What a compliment to say Heather does not put herself or anyone else in a box. Yes, life is messy and unless we acknowledge that we miss meeting fabulous people. Have a great week 2.

  2. The way you described Heather is exactly what I love about her blog. Cheers to not putting anyone in a box.
